Right away, she knew she was no longer in the inn. The smells, the sounds, the feeling. All were her proof. Her nose twitched, her fingertips slid along the dirt ridden floor, clenching into fist. Her ears were invaded by the whines and cries of pain. She had heard the rumors, had shook her head at the tales. Now, here she was or was she in the cellar of the inn? She rolled her head to the side and discovered she wasn't alone. There were several people, men, women and children. All cowered away from the entrance and hovered by the damp walls. She narrowed her aqua-blue eyes, sitting up and giving her temple a slight rub, the pain there a bit noticable. She searched the sea of glazed pupils, releasing a sigh and shoved her body up into a standing position. She gave the cell a glance and walked over to the bars, her fingernail raking down the metal.

The legendary monastery, named Absconditus Abbatia..due to being concealed by a thick fog most of the year. They called it magic, she knew it was due to the ground being so warm, while the tempeture was so cold. She also knew there was only one escape open to her, but very difficult to make happen. She could be chosen for duties and rise up through the ranks to where she could make plans to escape, but at that moment, she not only had herself to think about. Her brother was in there somewhere.

She would wait, her fingers fiddling with her straight sandy blonde hair, finding and retrieving the pin there, releasing the strands so that they flowed down to her lower back. She favored the appearance of a traveler, woolen garb, thick winter boots and cloak. At least, she had the smarts to hide any gold she had earned. Now, to plan.

Sylvia's hand almost jerked when a smaller one gripped hers. At five foot six, she stood tall over the little girl that gazed up at her. She wanted to pull back and she peered over at the others, seeking someone that the girl might belong to..none were forthcoming. She just stood there, at the moment thinking about her own sibling. Finally, she worked her hand free and nudged the little one back over to the small crowd.

Two days had passed and Sylvia held council in her mind. Plans were not forthcoming even with her intelligence for planning. For some reason, all within were being silent as to how a prisoner could go elsewhere other then in this barred cell. The little girl, Maria was constantly by her side, no matter how much she shunned her and incouraged her to seek other companionship. Upon glancing at the other faces, she let it slide, rolling her eyes towards the ceiling, swearing she would not care.

Sylvia worked at the pin when noone was looking, sliding and slipping it along the stoned floor. Of course, some were curious, but didn't offer up any aid, all but the child. She lay claim, in a whisper, that she was good at stealing. Sylvia mulled this over in her thoughts. She raised to stand and walked over to the cell entrance as she heard boot falls approaching.

Sylvia caught the man's attention as he stood in the doorway, a hulking figure to be sure, taking up every inch of space. She inhaled sharply as her eyes settled on his. It was him, the demon himself. She was sure she would burst into flames by just glancing upon him. She was assured it would happen. But wait, it didn't happen that way. Her flesh was not burned. She hmfed and must have made some sound out loud and not within as she thought she had done, for the man looked straight at her and dozens of gasps went off at once from behind her. There was little warning for the action taken next, Sylvia ducked and it was all she could do as the humongous fist sped her way. At least, it looked big. She glared and was stared back at by the liquid silver eyes. If looks could murder and that whole show.

Hushed words were spoken and she got her release. Hmm, a simple duck and she could leave. The little girl gripped her hand desperately, shaking her head. "No!"

Sylvia paused, eyeing Maria and the Demon, as she had dubbed the hulk, motioned for the girl to be allowed to remain with her. Disappointment showed across her features. What did he have planned? And could she keep her concern hidden?
